Valentine's Party

The children love to pass around Valentine's cards and candies to their friends on Valentine's Day.

For the Downstairs class, we try to make the process easy for the kids to pass out cards. If your child is in the downstairs class simply write who the card/candy is from. You do not need to write the names of the children in the downstairs class.

If your child is in the Upstairs class, we do ask the children to write the name of their classmates on the cards. This is an excellent exercise for practicing penmanship and reading. A list of names will be distributed at the beginning of the month.

Mother's Day Tea Party

Our Annual Mother's Day Tea Party is always a big success. It is an event you do not want to miss.  Our children always put on a short performance and then serve tea and snacks to their mothers, grandmas, and aunts.  Due to teacher's schedule changes, the date of the Annual Mother's Day Tea Party has changed.  The new day is May 3rd.

Cloverdale Montessori School Anniversary

Cloverdale Montessori School was opened in 1986 and will celebrate its 26th year this August. In April of 2002 Lynn Butler purchased the school from Carol Dingwall.  We would like to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Lynn's ownership of the school this April. We will be having a special pajama party in honor of the event.  This year is also Ms. Jan and Ms. Carrie's 10th year at the school. We are a very close family here at Cloverdale Montessori and we would like to honor all the years of dedication and hard work.

Volunteer Opportunity

We have so many amazing readers in our upstairs class that we need your help! They need to practice their new reading skills on a regular basis. That is where we need parent's help.  We need a parent to come into the class on a regular basis and listen to children read.  Volunteering will give you an opportunity to see what amazing things the children work on during school time.  You can come in at any time during school time. You can stay for a half-hour or as long as you like.  Parents, grandparents or aunts and uncles are welcome to volunteer from the upstairs or downstairs class.  Just talk to one of the teachers to set up a time, or e-mail Ms. Carrie at c.hoshaw@yahoo.com.

School Attendance and Tardiness

Your child's regular and prompt attendance at school is crucial to his or her school success!  We cannot emphasize this enough! Most Montessori activities are hands on and cannot be duplicated at home.  The first half-hour of school is when we show work on the shelves, so if your child is tardy they will be missing very important lessons and information.  It is next to impossible to make up what your child will miss when not in school.  If your child is not able to attend due to illness, please call the school before the start of the day.
