Your Gateway to Learning

ADMISSIONS PROCESS

Application Process:

  1. The first step in the enrollment process is to plan a visit to the school with your child. You will have a chance to see the school, meet the teachers, and ask any questions.  We are confident you will find a school filled with dynamic academic activities, a diverse population, and students who are engaged and excited about learning.

  2. Our teachers will meet with you and your child to ascertain your child's readiness and discover your desires, which will help personalize his/her experience with us from the beginning.  During the tour, we work one-on-one with your child, presenting her/him with several beginning Montessori lessons.

  3. We typically schedule tours at 3:30 p.m., which gives your child the opportunity to become acquainted with the classrooms and learn how lessons are presented.  The teacher takes her turn first, while the child watches, then the child takes a turn and the teacher watches.  We show the child and parents where important areas are--bathrooms, cubby room where children put their personal belongings, and then to our expansive play area.  Your child has the opportunity to play on the equipment and interact with the other children.  You may schedule a further morning visit, if you desire before making a final decision, when the students are working in the classroom. Your child may join us for worktime, circle activities, or crafts during his/her visit.  You will see how students learn in a Montessori environment.

  4. Next, fill out a Tour Review Form at the end of your visit.  This will give the teachers the appropriate information for when you call back to sign up.

  5. We will give you an information packet to take home and look through.  The admission process will be reviewed with you at that time.  We encourage you to ask questions of any of our teachers.

  6. When you decide to make Cloverdale Montessori School the place for your child's education, simply fill out the online application pay the registration fee.  Your child's spot will be reserved for the time you wish to start.  All health records must be completed before the first day of school.
